At Kiota Kids, we give children in Meru County, Kenya a safe and loving home. We welcome those who have been forgotten and offer them education, care, and a community that believes in them. Our goal is to protect, uplift, and support vulnerable children so they can grow, heal, and create bright futures of their own.

Why We’re Here

In Meru County thousands of children call the streets home, a number that continues to rise. These children face unimaginable hardships. For survival they scavenge, beg or rummage through rubbish whilst enduring discrimination, malnutrition, violence and disease. Many have been driven to the streets by issues relating to parental abandonment, domestic abuse, teenage pregnancies, and extreme poverty.

Our Story

We believe the most lasting change happens when it comes from within the community. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with local leaders, families, and organizations to understand the unique challenges children face. Together, we design solutions that reflect local culture, resources, and strengths — from safe housing and education opportunities to mentorship and skills training — ensuring that children have the support they need to leave the streets and build brighter futures.
